After a leisurely late lunch downtown, a quick trip to CVS brought on a new obsession... It started with wanting a navy blue nail polish that became a need for a limited edition Chanel, Blue Satin polish.
I could've settled for a non-Chanel polish but I'm not sure how I managed to convince myself that it will not look right if it's not Chanel. I'm so contradictory. I'm reading a great book called "Deluxe: How Luxury Lost It's Luster" by Newsweek columnist Dana Thomas and it's opened my eyes about the luxury industry. It has made me feel better about not buying the Louis Vuitton bag as a birthday present for myself but it has made me wish for a Birkin. Go figure. I was almost jealous of the Japanese prostitutes who chose their profession just so they could have their birkins. It's sick. I'm sick.
Oh well... I will probably end up with OPI.
Also speaking of prostitutes, I highly recommend "The Great Happiness Space." Great documentary from Jake Clennell.
